Leading operator is first in the living sector to collaborate with the award-winning giving platform to launch community initiative.

London, February 2023 | Native, the UK’s leading independent build-to-rent operator, has partnered with the award-winning ‘giving platform’ Neighbourly to prioritise community and people- based projects for its employees and residents.

As one of the UK’s first B Corps, and helping businesses make a positive impact by donating volunteer time, money and surplus products – Neighbourly is an all-encompassing platform encouraging businesses to support their local neighbourhoods and communities via a diverse mix of initiatives to support essential and valuable local charities and ESG initiatives within communities.

This will be the platform’s first partnership with a real estate operator. Native joins leading corporates Heineken UK, Marks & Spencer, Penguin, Samsung and Lidl in making a positive impact with Neighbourly.

Creating soulful rental communities for the future, Native is one of the fastest growing independent BTR operators in the UK, operating small and large-scale build-to-rent assets on behalf of institutional, private equity and local authority clients.

Launching Native's partnership with Neighbourly, this February marks the first – in a series – of dedicated employee events arranged via the partnership, and will see senior team members visit UK charity, FoodCycle to ‘spring clean’ food bank kitchens in London locations close to Dalston Works and No. 26, two of Native’s longest standing assets Neighbourly will continue to work with Native’s UK-wide neighbourhoods and Community Managers to source meaningful and local good causes and volunteer opportunities for each individual location.

Native employees will also be provided one volunteering day to do community work for the charities, neighbourhoods and initiatives that are important to them.

Guy Nixon, CEO at Native, said:

Neighbourly is a change for good, helping to ease logistics and connect our business to local community groups and charities – which is an essential foundation in creating enjoyable places for people to live, work and play. As a leading operator, we understand the importance of encouraging and enlivening the lives of our residents and local communities, but also the stakeholders that make it all happen – our employees. In a world that continues to remain turbulent and unpredictable, our partnership with Neighbourly hopes to bring joy, give back and build lasting relationships within our neighbourhoods.

Steve Butterworth, CEO at Neighbourly, said: "We're delighted to be working with Native on their volunteering programme. Local charities and good causes are in need of support now more than ever and employee volunteering is a key part of that. Native is our first client in the BTR sector and we are looking forward to helping them connect with the causes in and around the locations where they operate and forge strong community relationships."
